"This place is class. We arrived in Frigiliana around lunch time and spent the afternoon mooching about. We were not overly hungry but decided to call in and have a glass of wine about 19:30. In the end we decided to ask for the menu and it did not disappoint, the food was delicious along with the service. I’m normally not someone who would bother with writing a review but I just felt like this restaurant deserves it. We have 6 days to go so let’s hope the standard is across the board. Quick tip: have the melon and Iberico it’s the finest. The sword fish and pork kebab was very special also There is also a young lad who is very helpful with the wine so double points to this place. 100% would go back"

"Beautiful setting in the square, waiters very attentive and polite. The house salad starter we shared was huge and delicious! I then had monk fish in leek sauce with jacket potato and a small helping of veg, which was excellent, my husband had the swordfish (no sauce, also really good). Too full for dessert!"

"Very beautiful location, right beside the Church of San Antonio, so aptly named La Taberna del Sacristàn. Very relaxing and the waiters all had a great command of a lot of European languages. As we were going out to dinner later, we just had a plate of local meats and cheese with a glass of Rose. So tasty. The table coverings outside were lovely and complimented the surroundings Inside was a lot bigger that it looked and very full. Everyone was working so hard, and even under pressure the staff were still so polite. Fantastic way to spend a hot August afternoon."

"We had a wonderful evening at Taberna El Sacristán. The food was excellent and the setting is beautiful, with a great atmosphere that really captures the charm of Frigiliana. However, one aspect of the service left a very sour note at the end of what should have been a perfect experience. Our 18-year-old daughter ordered a spaghetti Bolognese for her main (after a fish soup starter), and the waiter openly criticised her choice, calling her a baby and that when visiting another country she should be eating local food rather than something she could have at home (she has eaten local food all week, but fancied spaghetti Bol this evening). It was unnecessary and made her uncomfortable, but we chose to overlook it. Unfortunately, it didn’t end there. When complimentary baileys was brought to the table, one was deliberately withheld from her, with the explanation that she had ordered a “kids’ meal”. She is 18, had ordered from the menu like the rest of us, and this felt both patronising and inappropriate. It’s a real shame, because everything else about the evening was spot on. But small moments like this matter, and no guest should be made to feel judged or diminished. Without this unnecessary nastiness marring the evening, this would easily be a five-star experience."

"Lovely restaurant. The food is great as is the location. Ate here twice for dinner during our week in the town. Worth reserving a table in advance as they get booked up."
